Aihole PPC
MonumentOn the banks of the Malaprabha, Aihole is often called a cradle of Indian temple architecture. Its 120-odd stone and cave temples, most built by the Chalukyas of Badami from the 6th century, show builders trying out the styles that later spread across the Deccan. The cancellation carries the royal emblem of the early Western Chalukyas.
